Q6 Technology tbc

We use many technologies when working on our media coursework, technology is used in basicly everything we do in media, from film making to blogging!

Blogger
One of the main technologies of course is blogger itself, an easy to use blogging site, which is the main aspect of our written coursework and research and planning! it is easy to use and does its job very well. Anyone could use it and its easy to access. Abling you to share your work with your peers and teahcers is very effective, Perfect for our media work.

Final cut pro
Final cut pro for editing of our final piece was a vital part of technology used. There are many things you can do from different transitions to adding titles, It makes our final piece what it is. We have used it for making our vodcast, podcasts and my ident. It is an easy software that is easy to get used to.

LiveType
We made our ident using Live Type a tool that created a moving text or an animation with text for your typical ident look you would get in a film, i combined adobe to make an animation for my 'Steak Jakey' production and then live type to make my animated text at the front, the combination worked well.

LiveType

This is my completed Ident it doesn't have audio as for our film opening the audio starts when the Idents start, therefore i didn't include the audio.

Adobe Flash

Adobe flash

I used adobe flash to create my Animation for my Ident. The software was easy to use as i used a tutorial video on youtube of how to do it. I went with the idea of a dancing steak and the slogan 'steaky jakey' as my production name as i thought the steak worked really well with it

                                                 Garage Band
The Garage Band software
For my ident and my Film i used garage band to make both of these things better. We used it for our opening and was very effective. The sound worked very well to build up tension. It was very easy to use as there was a variety of different options and instruments. As you could import the video and make a soundtrack whilst the video played was very very helpful as you can make a perfect soundtrack for it as when you feel tension you can, influence that onto your sound.

Youtube
We use youtube in our project to look at past coursework, we can then assess these projects and take inspiration or even find what was the downside to it and how we could make our openings better than theres. We also use it to put shortcuts of trailers on blogs and general watching of slasher scenes, Trailers and many other things that will inspire our coursework. We can get images as well by taking screen shots of the youtube video.

Camera
In our project we use a Canon 550D HD camera, which gives a great quality to our final project. We used the Canon in our MicroDrama and worked very well. HD cameras are now able to be used because of the recent change to digitilisation, it costs very little to make a high quality film!

http://www.brainstormtutoriais.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/SONY-VegasPro11-icon.pngSony Vegas: Sony Vegas is very similar to existing programmes like Final Cut Pro however is the alternate windows version. I have found that it is more complex and offers a wider range of tools to use which are easier and simpler to use. However it is personal opinion, because I have been using it for years. With Sony Vegas we put together our trailer, final film and also several podcasts. IT was very useful for me as I can use it anywhere I take my laptop with me so editing on the go is very easy. It offers the ability to cut, edit and trim whilst giving the ability to add effects, transitions and custom plugins.

Also now than digitisation has finally overtaken the older analogue. Making films has become much easier, especially low budget films as handheld cameras can be used to make movies. Take paranormal activity for an example, a $15k budget making $200m dollars worldwide gross, it is easier to make films from a low budget! Like our case study Warp shows with the film Le donk and scor-zay-zee which cost around £45k you can make a very good film in a short period of time, with digitisation helping them to do so as they made a film in 5 days. as our film was also an extremely low budget we shot our opening in a 2 day period and have produced what we think a perfectly good opening.
